An increase in blood pressure occurs when blood vessels constrict. The mechanism of action is understood to be that piperine derived from Hihatsu lowers blood pressure by acting on substances that signal blood vessels to relax.
Hihatsu (*Piper longum*) is an evergreen climbing plant of the pepper family, cultivated in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia. Its fruit is used as a spice and has long been consumed both in Japan and abroad as a seasoning.

**Directions for Use**
